Child Teaching Literary Analysis

Students choose a book to read. Then they "become" a character from the book. Students will be partnered up so they make a list of questions to ask their partner's character. It can have to do with characteristics, other characters, setting, plot, problem or solution, cause or effect, etc

Every sentence in every novel does something.  In my opinion, this is one of the most important foundational ideas for helping students understand literary elements and their use in literary text.
